This month’s update is a doozy! 😲 We’ve got a new hosting plan (and improvements to our existing plans), new accessibility service offerings, our Shopify pilot, and some exciting automation possibilities for your team (or your clients)!
There’s so much to cover that we’re splitting the update into two parts, so keep an eye out next week for more info on accessibility and automation!
New WordPress hosting plans
We’ve heard our partners’ requests for a hosting plan for clients that only need a basic site, so we’re excited to announce that we’ve added a new Starter tier and updated our existing tiers to be more impressive than before.
Here’s the breakdown of our hosting plans, as of May 2025:

Shopify development, care plans, and support
We’re so excited to announce that we’re now offering Shopify services alongside our WordPress services! 🥳 Get all the expertise and top-notch support you’ve come to expect from the Valerian team for your clients’ Shopify sites.
We’re considering this our Shopify pilot, meaning that everything is still subject to changes and adjustments as we fine-tune things over the next 6 months. We’ve taken what we can from our WordPress processes and learned all about Shopify, but we know there will be some little details along the way that might cause us to shift things a bit. If you have any questions or have feedback for us, let us know in Slack!
Here are the deets, as they currently stand:
Website projects
Shopify development will work very similarly to our WordPress development: simply ping us in Slack when you’d like a project quote. We’ll follow up with a project agreement once we’ve worked through any initial details we need to properly scope. If everything sounds good, we get to work using our tried and true processes and our new Shopify skills.
Care plans
$20/month | Suggested selling price: $40–60/month or bundle with a support retainer
- Proactive uptime, SSL, and domain monitoring (We’ve seen several clients forget to renew their domains lately, so this last item might prove to be extra helpful! 😉)
- Alttext.ai Shopify app access and reasonable use credits
- Initial 15 minutes of support for the following:
- Email delivery issues
- DNS changes/questions
- Redirects
- Functionality issues/questions
- “I have a quick question…”
- Partner Portal management
- Organized credentials
- Site notes
- Contact management
- Access to retainer support and add-ons
Since Shopify is very different from WordPress, we’ve worked hard to design a care plan that offers recurring income for you and added benefits for your client. Care plans also set the stage for a successful support experience, so we will require care plans to access our support for Shopify sites.
Support
Your existing support retainer with Valerian now covers Shopify! Simply add sites to the Partner Portal and activate a care plan; we’ll take it from there on any support requests!
