Expanded Accessibility Services with a Side of Automation

What’s New, Part 2

We’re back with the rest of our Partner Update for May 2025! (If you missed it, click here to read part 1.)

We’ve been making strategic decisions about how to expand our accessibility services, and Ben’s started up a new business based around automation. 🤖


Updated accessibility services

Accessible design makes for better websites all around. That’s why the Valerian team has spent the last few years researching and learning about accessibility so that we can deliver better websites to your clients.

Our most recent endeavor has been the Everything Accessibility course; the entire Valerian team is slated to complete the course by the end of July! With our whole team on the same page, you can rest assured that we’ll have accessibility in mind, every step of the way.

RAMP

$40/month | Suggested selling price: $60–$120/month or bundle with a remediation retainer

As part of our ongoing accessibility efforts, we are adding new services specifically for clients who need to ensure an accessible site: RAMP by Accessible Web.

RAMP is the foundation of our accessibility services. With RAMP, we can discover, remediate, and report on a site’s accessibility compliance. We’re also able to leverage the Accessible Web team if additional support is needed. Here are some of the benefits for your clients:

  • Compliance Center
    Once we onboard a site to RAMP, your client will get a unique site roadmap that shows what needs to happen to reach compliance.
  • Ongoing reporting and remediation tracking
    RAMP provides automated site scanning, a manual audit tool, and remediation tracking so we can provide clients with reports and recommendations. We can also share a public log on the client’s website that demonstrates their progress on the way to compliance.
  • Accessibility statement and contact form
    To help protect clients and show that they are taking accessibility seriously, RAMP can generate a site statement and embedded contact form for tracking accessibility issues discovered by users.
  • Education on accessibility
    Your clients may need additional education to understand and meet compliance requirements. Accessible Web provides many courses that can be helpful for all members of a team.

Initial and ongoing remediation

Accessibility remediation services won’t be separated from our support retainers, to keep things simple, but you can earmark a certain number of hours each month to be used for remediation. However, we do suggest selling a remediation retainer to your clients or bundling it as part of their support retainer with you.

We recommend starting out with a baseline check for sites with a CMS component (i.e. any Shopify site or WordPress site using posts or CPTs), but remediation is an ongoing process with recurring manual audits and remediation steps.

If you’re considering how to pitch this to clients, you could work in 2-, 5-, or 10-hour blocks, but feel free to sell whatever works best for their particular needs. You can also reach out via Slack, and we’d be happy to help brainstorm the perfect fit.


Automation magic with Kohort ⚡

Anyone who knows Ben knows he has a passion for automation. Although Valerian doesn’t offer automation services directly, Ben and his business partner, Brad, have launched their new business Kohort!

What’s Coming Up

You might think, with all these updates, that there couldn’t possibly be anything still in the works, but you’d be wrong! Behind the scenes, we’ve been working away at our updated version of the Partner Portal.

We’re rebuilding the app from the ground up, allowing us to streamline the interface and improve the user experience. But that’s not all: we’re laying the groundwork to add more features and improvements in the future. Our partners have said that they love the Partner Portal, and we’re hoping that the new version will create even more ease for you. 😌
